The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement regarding thunderstorms moving through the area tonight

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Butler, Clarion, Lawrence, Mercer and Venango Counties until midnight.

The storms are capable of producing small hail, heavy rain and winds up to 40 miles per hour.

Ponding on roadways and low lying areas can also be expected.

At 4:19 p.m. the storms were two miles north of Sun Valley and were moving northeast at 30 miles per hour.
