Homeless man stabs another in North Side dispute

One homeless man is hospitalized and a second is under arrest after a stabbing on the North Side this afternoon.

The men were arguing in a homeless camp off Ridge Avenue just before 1 p.m. when one stabbed the other in the back with a folding knife, Lt. Michael Piasecki said.

The wounded man was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was expected to survive. Lt. Piasecki did not release either man's name.

He said the camp is in a wooded area near the former Columbus Middle School annex.
