Storms Moving into Region #Pittsburgh

Thunderstorms with heavy rain were expected to move through Washington, Allegheny and Westmoreland counties early this afternoon.

In a special weather statement, the National Weather Service said that at 2 p.m., radar showed storms with heavy rain four miles northeast of Avella, moving northeast. The storms could cause ponding on roads and may contain hail and gusts to 40 mph.

Affected locations in Allegheny County included Upper St. Clair, Mt. Lebanon, Bethel Park, McKees Rocks, Oakdale, Bridgeville, Carnegie and Baldwin.
