Nebraska Congressman Tours Flood Damage

With all of the recent flooding problems, rain is something a lot of Northeast Nebraska communities are trying to avoid right now.

Nebraska Congressman Jeff Fortenberry was in Norfolk to get a first hand look at the damage.

He says one of the federal government's top priorities will be to help rebuild the collapsed railroad bridge and restore rail service.

"Our job at this moment has been to ensure that the federal agency who has jurisdiction over this process is very much in the loop, which they appear to be. And, be very attentive and highly sensitized to the need to get this rebuilt. So, I'm glad to see that," said Fortenberry, "We'll continue to work with the community and think creatively about other potential options that are out there."

U.S. Senator Ben Nelson is also expected to visit the area this week.
